We all know it’s true, and on Wednesday social media giant Facebook reiterated the fact that they’re inclined to be overly judgmental in regards to disparaging content related to President Obama and/or his White House.
According to numerous reports including Glenn Beck’s The Blaze as well as Fox News, members of Facebook’s “User Operation’s Team” aka “Facebook Security” – “incorrectly warned” a conservative fanpage named “Chicks on the Right” which boasts well over 100,000 fans – in regards to a post critical of Barack Obama’s administration.
An incoming email from the facebook gestapo notified Mockarena and Daisy, the fan page founders, that “Chicks on the Right” was about to become chicks on the chopping block and so was Mockarena’s personal account to boot.
The content which had drawn the big blue ire of fB was in regards to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, pointing interested clickers to a link titled “You Know What? Liberal Hypocrisy is Starting to Cause Me Actual Physical Pain,” with Mockarena adding a “Jay Carney can kiss my assular area,” in the comment box just above the link.
But a few news reports later and all of a sudden Facebook spokesman Fred Wolens is telling Fox News:
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience…Unfortunately, the users were incorrectly warned by our User Operation’s Team and we have already removed all associated blocks from the accounts.”
From that account, the disruption of service had already begun. In November of last year a woman was fired from her job for posting negative remarks about the President on facebook, although her comments were of a more extreme nature than most.
For those of us who comprise the sane opposition, facebook simply represents a place where we can hang out and exchange information related to what a terrible President Barack Obama has been thus far, and what we can expect to suffer through for the next 4 years. But facebook has become increasingly unstable and decreasingly dependable for people who’s passion is conservative politics with many of the problems stemming from folks on the left spending their time sending in millions of malicious and unfounded reports daily, keeping the fB geek squad busier than ever while justifying their very partisan disruptions.
There’s a new term for people who’ve been politically naughty and put onto facebook’s version of house arrest called “facebook jail,” limiting the person from sending friend requests for up to 30 days (I’ve personally been quarantined 7 times) and blocking them from sending messages to anyone other than existing friends. In certain instances facebook will limit a persons ability to create new posts as well, citing “abuse of this feature” as the reason.
For conservatives who aren’t yet familiar, there’s a new conservatively themed version of facebook online and it’s pretty danged awesome. The Tea Party Community doesn’t boast the millions of members, yet, but it’s quickly becoming a safe haven for many who are either no longer welcome or no longer willing to put up with the constant harassment from the ultra liberal Facebook establishment. You can find my Tea Party Community Profile here.
